Session I - Prescribed Fire Policy Research & Recommendations for Montana
Aspen Ward is a J.D. candidate at the Alexander Blewett III School of Law and M.S. candidate in the Department of Public Administration & Policy at the University of Montana. While working as the Baucus Institute Climate Scholar for The Nature Conservancy's Montana office, Aspen researched the policy avenues that other states have pursued to increase the pace and scale of prescribed fire and developed policy recommendations for Montana.

Annie Schmidt is a Program Specialist for the Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network (FACnet). She has worked extensively in wildfire planning and policy in her home state of Washington, and recently facilitated a policy learning group for FACnet.
